Our mission for the residents of West Elmira
The West Elmira Volunteer Fire Department is organized to save lives, suppress and control fires, provide emergency medical services, provide fire prevention education, hazardous materials response, water/ice rescue, public assistance during natural emergencies and other activities as deemed in the best interest of the fire department and citizens of our community.

Did you know we offer a payable position?
Already have firefighter certifications and looking for a part time position with room to grow your emergency experience? Our team staffs a 3 man crew 24 hours per day. Stop in and pick up an application today!
Don't want to join but want some training?
Soon the team at West Elmira Fire Department will offer CPR classes scheduled throughout the year. Our facility also assists other agencies with holding classes like boater safety held by the Sheriffs Department and more!
