Every year West Elmira Fire Department hold a fire prevention week to inform the public about fire safety and emergencies and ending the week with an open house for the public to learn about fire, medical and other forms of emergencies.
Some of the tools we use to inform the residents are interactive and can be fun when learning about fire safety. we have a Bullex system (used for fire extinguisher confidence). The smoke trailer is a very interactive tool our team uses to show a safe and informative way to safely exit a house that simulates a fire inside, and many more great activities!
Every year for one day the West Elmira Volunteer Fire Department opens its doors to everyone for food games and demonstrations for the opportunity too learn about fire, medical and police and to get to meet the service members of your community! Keep an eye out for dates and times!
